Neo Energy Oasis Development
Neo Energy Oasis Development Company Limited of Chin Corp Myanmar has been granted 75 years concession for supplying electricity from hydro powered plant. On 5 November 2009, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement the Upper Baluchaung Hydropower Project under B.O.T system, was signed between Ministry of Electric Power No.(1) and Neo Energy Oasis Development Co.,Ltd.
On (17.1.2011) the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), to implement of the Upper Baluchaung Hydropower Project by B.O.T system, was signed between Ministry of Electric Power No.(1) and Neo Energy Oasis Development Co.,Ltd.
This plant is located in Upper Balu Chaung (Southern Shan State) producing 34.6GWh Annually. Upper Baluchaung Hydropower Project is run-off river type, During the diversion period the relase water flows back to the river downstream. There will be no damage to the natural environment. It is expected that annual sedimentation from Upper Baluchaung river to Inle Lake is 1600 thousand m3. These sediments will be control infront of concrete weir and on the other hand to support the long term existence of Inle Lake.
